Quebec mining & metals producer
Rush-supplied several thousand explosion-proof cable-gland connectors against a same-day RFQ — priced, stock-confirmed and quoted within hours to hold the project schedule.
Industries served
Rugged Class I and Class II equipment for surface and underground mining, smelters and metals processing.
Ex Solutions supplies CSA-certified explosion-proof and dust-ignition-proof electrical equipment for mining and metals operations — where combustible dust (Class II) and, in some processes, flammable gas (Class I) drive the hazardous-area classification.
The challenge
Mining and metals combine heavy mechanical abuse with real ignition hazards — combustible metal or mineral dust (Class II) and, in some processes, flammable gas (Class I). Equipment has to be sealed against dust (Group E, F or G), corrosion-resistant, and tough enough for surface yards or underground service.

Anonymized for confidentiality — real scope, real scale.
Rush-supplied several thousand explosion-proof cable-gland connectors against a same-day RFQ — priced, stock-confirmed and quoted within hours to hold the project schedule.
Cross-referenced and supplied dust-rated explosion-proof enclosures and disconnects for a metals production line, matched to the plant's Class and Group requirements.
Mining and metals is a Class II world first — combustible metal and mineral dust — with Class I flammable-gas zones in some processes. Equipment has to be sealed to the right dust Group (E, F or G), able to shed heat without exceeding the dust's ignition temperature, and built to survive the mechanical and corrosive punishment of surface yards and underground service.
We supply dust-ignition-proof and explosion-proof enclosures, rugged LED lighting for headframes, mills and drifts, high-volume cable-gland connectors and fittings, and the disconnects and control stations that keep a classified area compliant — with corrosion-grade and stainless options where the environment is wet or aggressive.
Mining orders are often large and urgent. We price, confirm stock and quote fast, and cross- reference obsolete or imported parts to certified equivalents so nothing on the line list stalls.
Class, Division and Group must be confirmed with your AHJ and a qualified person (QPS) against the Canadian Electrical Code.
