The challenge
Mining and metals combine heavy mechanical abuse with real ignition hazards — combustible metal or mineral dust (Class II) and, in some processes, flammable gas (Class I). Equipment has to be sealed against dust (Group E, F or G), corrosion-resistant, and tough enough for surface yards or underground service.

Metals-processing enclosure supply

Mining and metals is a Class II world first — combustible metal and mineral dust — with Class I flammable-gas zones in some processes. Equipment has to be sealed to the right dust Group (E, F or G), able to shed heat without exceeding the dust's ignition temperature, and built to survive the mechanical and corrosive punishment of surface yards and underground service.

Common questions
- Is mining a Class I or Class II hazardous location?
- It is usually Class II — combustible dust — but some processes also involve Class I flammable gas. The Group (E for metal dust, F for carbonaceous, G for other) and Division are set per CEC Section 18 by a qualified person; equipment must be rated for the specific dust hazard present.
- Can you supply in the quantities a mine needs?
- Yes. We regularly quote and supply high volumes of glands, fittings and enclosures, and confirm factory lead times up front so a large order lands on schedule.
