The challenge
Oil and gas sites are dominated by Class I flammable-gas atmospheres, where a single non-compliant fitting can fail an inspection or an audit. Equipment has to carry the right Division and Temperature (T) code for the process, survive weather, vibration and corrosion, and often ship on a tight turnaround for a shutdown.

Heat-trace control enclosures
Supplied modified 32×36×12 flameproof enclosures with stainless hinge kits and custom cable entries for an instrumentation and heat-trace control package.
Oil and gas is the classic hazardous-location market: flammable gas and vapour make most of a site a Class I area, split into Division 1 (present under normal operation) and Division 2 (present only under fault conditions). Getting the Division and the Temperature (T) code right for the process is the difference between a fixture that passes inspection and one that gets red-tagged.
What the process demands
We supply certified equipment across the full envelope — wellheads, separators, tank batteries, compressor stations and gas-processing trains: flameproof enclosures and instrument housings, explosion-proof lighting rated to the correct T-code, disconnects and control stations, and the certified glands, seals and breather-drains that make an installation compliant at every boundary.
Turnaround matters
Shutdowns don't wait. Much of our oil & gas work is time-critical — matching an imported or obsolete part to a certified equivalent, confirming factory lead time, and getting a defensible quote back the same day so the order can be placed.
Area classification and equipment selection must be confirmed with your AHJ and a qualified person (QPS) against the Canadian Electrical Code.
Common questions
- Do I need Division 1 or Division 2 equipment for an oil & gas site?
- It depends on how often the flammable atmosphere is present. Division 1 applies where ignitable concentrations exist under normal operation; Division 2 where they are present only under abnormal conditions. The area classification is set by a qualified person against CEC Section 18 and the facility's classification drawings — confirm the boundary before selecting equipment.
- Can you match a US-spec part to a Canadian-certified equivalent?
- Yes. A large part of our work is cross-referencing US or imported parts to CSA-certified equivalents that will pass a Canadian inspection, then quoting them. Send the part number and we confirm the equivalent by hand.
